The FIV Foil Academy powered by Luna Rossa is a joint initiative between the Italian Sailing Federation and Team Luna Rossa, dedicated to training and developing young Italian foiling athletes. Led by Olympic multi-medalist Alessandra Sensini, the Academy offers an educational and athletic program designed for sailors of all experience levels in foiling, using a range of boat classes.
Activities include the following sessions: Fly Test, Clinics, Training, and Stage.
Fly test

FLY TEST
The activity, organized in 3-day modules, is aimed at athletes who are already engaged in competitive sailing and who are approaching foiling navigation for the first time. Registration is voluntary through an online form that opens approximately 20 days before the event, and admission is evaluated by the DGN and the Federal Technical Staff.
Clinic

CLINIC
The activity, organized in 3 to 6-day modules, is dedicated to athletes who already know how to sail foiling boats and who wish to improve their technical skills, maneuver execution and knowledge of the boats. During the Clinic, racing is also introduced, with exercises around marks, race formats and rules. Registration is voluntary through an online form that opens approximately 20 days before the event, and admission is evaluated by the DGN and the Federal Technical Staff.

TRAINING
The activity, organized in 3 to 6-day modules, is aimed at athletes who already compete in foiling classes and is intended to develop racing skills. Athletes are identified by the Federal Coaches on the basis of racing results and direct observation during regattas and are invited by the DGN through an invitation letter, which must be confirmed by the athlete or by their sailing club.

STAGE
The activity is aimed at athletes with a competitive racing program who wish to consolidate their technical, tactical and strategic knowledge. Registration is voluntary through an online form and admission is evaluated by the DGN and the Federal Technical Staff. Athletes participate with their own boats.

BirdyFish
The BirdyFish is a foiling dinghy designed to make foiling accessible and progressive, while maintaining a technical configuration suitable for training and development activities.

- Rudder with horizontal foil

- Length 4.7 m, mainsail 9 m², jib 4.3 m² and code 0 11 m²

Waszp
The Waszp is a boat derived from the foiling Moth, designed to be more accessible for both young sailors and adults. It has four different rigs and corresponding racing categories.

- Sail sizes 8.2 m², 7.5 m², 6.9 m²

IQ Foil
The IQFoil is a foiling windsurf board and is the class used at the Olympic Games in the windsurf discipline. Sail configurations differ for men, women and youth categories.

- T-foil
- 196-liter board (senior version)
- Sail sizes 8.0 m² (men) and 7.3 m² (women)

Wing Foil
Wingfoil consists of a board with a foil and an inflatable wing held by hand. The size of the board, foil and wing varies depending on weather conditions.
