Born in Piemonte, Stefano studied Materials Science at the University of Turin. In 1999 he founded QI Composites, which soon became a leading name in the CND (non-destructive testing) sector. In 2002, the business expanded into the world of wind energy and the company was entrusted with the development of methods and procedures for the inspection of 50-metre wind turbine blades produced in Spain. Since 2012, QI Composites has also systematically collaborated with the Ferrari team and since 2007 with all Volvo Ocean Race teams. Stefano has participated in six America's Cups: in 2003 with Luna Rossa, in 2007 as a consultant for nine teams, in 2010 with Alinghi, in 2013 and 2017 with Artemis Racing and in 2021 with Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. The 2024 Cup will be his seventh, the fourth with Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. He is passionate about sailing, surfing and ski mountaineering.
