Computer engineer Gilberto Nobili, alias Gillo, has been part of the Luna Rossa team in the 2003, 2007, 2021, and 2024 editions of the America’s Cup. He won the America’s Cup in 2010 and 2013 with Oracle Team and again in 2017 with Emirates Team New Zealand. Gillo has also taken part in numerous international events aboard TP52, Maxi yachts, and Extreme 40, and he sailed for four years (2004–2008) in the Star class with Francesco Bruni. Within Luna Rossa, he serves as Technology & Operations Director. The 38th edition will mark his eighth America’s Cup campaign, the fifth with Luna Rossa. He is a great enthusiast of both sport and technology. If he weren’t a professional sailor, he would be an engineer with a passion for sport, or a sportsman with a passion for technology.
