An athlete of the Fiamme Oro (state police sports group), Emanuele was born in Naples and fell in love with rowing at the age of 15, training at the Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia. In 2010 he became world champion in the under-23 category and in 2017 he won bronze at the absolute world championships in Sarasota in his favourite speciality, '8+', in which he also competed in the Rio Olympics. In his career, he has competed in 11 World Championships and in one Olympic game in rowing. He later turned to sailing, his great passion, participating in various offshore races. In 2021 he was on board Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli as a grinder. The 2024 edition in Barcelona will be his second America's Cup. In his spare time he likes to paint and freediving. If he weren’t a pro sailor he would have liked to find a job in any case in contact with the sea and nature.
