Born in Agrigento, Italy, Gabriele graduated in Nautical Engineering from the University of Genoa. During his studies he focused on the design of hulls, appendages, deck layouts, interior layouts and structural dimensioning. In 2011 he started working at Botin Partners in Spain, one of the most renowned naval design studios, collaborating on various projects (TP52, Mini Maxi, Class40, etc). In 2014 he joined the Luna Rossa team with which he took part in the 2021 edition of the Cup. The 2024 edition will be his second America's Cup. His hobbies are mainly related to the sea (wing foil, surfing, freediving), but he also loves cycling and hiking.
