LUNA ROSSA PRADA PIRELLI STARS AT THE FOILING AWARDS 2023

Milan, March 30th 2023 – The prizes for the sixth edition of the Foiling Awards for 2022 were assigned yesterday at the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan.

Conceived in 2016 by Luca Rizzotti - founder and President of We Are Foiling - and Domenico Boffi, these Awards non only honour the excellence in the world of "flying" boats but are also an international benchmark for enthusiasts of the sector.

In the "ONE-OFF BOAT - Presented by PERSICO - Performance Sailing Yachts" category (foiling boats that are not on the market) the LEQ12 Luna Rossa prototype obtained the majority of votes, surpassing competitors Biotherm (Imoca), Charal 2 (Imoca) and Ineos Britannia (T6).

Attending the award ceremony were Max Sirena (Team Director and Skipper of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli), Horacio Carabelli (Design Coordinator), Gilberto Nobili (Operations Manager) and Matteo Ledri (Design Team).

«We are particularly proud of this award», said Horacio Carabelli, «because the prototype was designed and built at the Cagliari base and is the result of an incredible team effort. I thank those who voted for us: it is an award for excellence, which I am proud to share with the whole team».

The award assigned for the LEQ12 prototype is an additional accolade that follows the two prizes achieved by the team in previous editions of the Foiling Awards: in year 2020 the "One Off Boat" category (Luna Rossa Boat 1) and in 2019 in the "Foiling Project" category (America's Cup AC75).

Ruggero Tita (member of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team) was also highly acclaimed at the Foiling Awards 2023, obtaining the "BEST SAILING TEAM - Presented by GARMIN" award with Caterina Banti.
