Not Just Sailing in the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team

Gym sessions and practice sailing, but also bike rides, have now become a part of the sailing team’s athletic training: Checco Bruni tells us more.

It’s been over a year now since an enthusiastic group of cyclists got together to train on intense bike rides.
The cycling training perfectly complements gym sessions and sailing: it improves heart health and provides muscle tone, without trauma to the joints. In addition it is a great way to discover the territory – and Sardinia offers extraordinary landscape, routes and weather conditions.
Checco Bruni, one of the sailing team veterans and a keen cyclist, leads the group. SUSTAINABILITY

A "Sustainability Kit" for the Sailing Schools

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team supports the initiative “Find the Bearings”, the sailing project promoted by FIV (Italian Sailing Federation) and sailing schools.
Among the activities planned there are days dedicated to the environment. A “Sustainability Kit”, created in collaboration with One Ocean Foundation, has been delivered to all the Italian sailing clubs. Each kit includes, together with guidelines for the correct behaviour to safeguard the sea, a datasheet to be filled during the scheduled beach clean- up, in order to monitor the amount and type of waste and identify the coastal areas at highest risk.

An America’s Cup campaign is both a sporting and a technological challenge leading to a constant search for the perfect boat - faster and better performing - by use of cutting-edge technologies. Each component is studied with care, down to the very last detail, and the equipment used by the athletes who sail on the revolutionary AC 75 “Luna Rossa” is no exception.
