BAGNOLI, LUNA ROSSA TAKES DELIVERY OF THE AREA FOR ITS OPERATIONAL BASE
Formal handover completed for the site allocated to the team ahead of the 38th America’s Cup

This morning, at the Deme/Invitalia offices in Bagnoli, the handover document was signed for the area allocated to Luna Rossa for the construction of its base ahead of the 38th America’s Cup. This marks an important operational milestone for the team, which is preparing to compete in Naples in 2027 in its seventh challenge for the world’s oldest sporting trophy. Giulio Giovanella, the team’s Logistics Director, attended the signing together with representatives of ACE and Invitalia.
Following the meeting, Giovanella carried out an inspection of the area allocated to Luna Rossa in order to assess the current condition of the site and discuss the operational aspects connected with the next phases of work.

«The official allocation of the area designated for our base in Bagnoli is a very important step, as it opens a new phase in our campaign towards the 38th America’s Cup», said Giulio Giovanella. «We can now begin working concretely on our new headquarters, with construction scheduled to start in September. We are very pleased and look forward to getting started. The construction of the bases will accompany the redevelopment of an area that is set to undergo a major transformation and become a new landmark for the city».
«Having access to the area where our base in Bagnoli will be built allows us to enter a decisive phase of our America’s Cup challenge», said Max Sirena, Chief Executive Officer of Luna Rossa. «On behalf of the entire team, I would like to thank Sport e Salute and the national and local authorities who made this step possible and who are working tirelessly on the organisation of the 38th America’s Cup. We are confident that it will be a major event and that it will place Naples at the centre of the international stage».
