CRVI HOSTS AN EVENING DEDICATED TO THE AMERICA’S CUP
Luna Rossa representatives meet members of the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia

On Thursday, 23 April, the salons of the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia in Naples hosted an evening dedicated to the America’s Cup, with particular attention given to the next edition, scheduled to take place in the Campanian capital in 2027.
The event drew a large turnout: more than one hundred members — including many young athletes — took part in the meeting, which retraced, through the voices of past and present protagonists, the history of the America’s Cup while also looking ahead to the challenges of the future. For the club’s young sailors, it was a unique opportunity to meet and engage with representatives of Luna Rossa, the Italian team that will compete under the yacht club’s burgee. Through their stories, the young participants were able to gain a closer understanding of the fascinating world of professional sailing, which many of them dream of joining one day.
The event, moderated by Il Mattino editor Vincenzo di Vincenzo, was attended by the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, as well as Giulio Bertelli and Max Sirena, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Luna Rossa respectively. Also present were athletes Margherita Porro and Marco Gradoni, both members of the sailing team.
During the evening, club members Carlo Bertorello and Lars Borgström shared their personal professional experience connected to the America’s Cup.
