MERCURY MARINE AND LUNA ROSSA PRADA PIRELLI RENEW PARTNERSHIP
The Italian team’s support vessels will be fitted again with the American outboards
Mercury Marine, a leading brand in the production and distribution of marine engines and accessories, has been reconfirmed Official Supplier of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli for the 37th America's Cup to be held in Barcelona, Spain, in 2024.
After the 2021 edition in Auckland, Mercury Marine's outboard engines will again power the Italian challenger's support vessels during the team's intense sailing program which includes the Louis Vuitton Cup and the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup, as well as the three preliminary regattas (Vilanova, Jeddah and Barcelona) and all training sessions.
More specifically, Mercury will supply the team the award-winning 4.6L V8 Verado 300hp engine and the recently introduced supercharged Mercury Racing 500R. The structure of these engines ensures compact dimensions, low weight, impressive accelerations, and, together with the electro-hydraulic steering system, Mercury propellers and Active Trim will deliver unmatched performance, control and driving comfort.
